The Audi Q7 sets the standard for luxury with its generous use of the finest materials and premium features. For instance, the available genuine wood or Brushed Aluminum decorative inlay options create a category-defining interior. Meanwhile, ambient LED interior lighting, located in the doors and overhead console enhancing the overall interior style of the Q7. The interior of the Q7 is as functional as it is luxurious. Folding the second and third row seats yields 72.5 cu. ft. of carrying capacity at the ready.
The clean lines of the Audi Q7 interior are designed to create an uncluttered, progressive looking environment that easily accommodates seven passengers. Additionally, it offers the flexibility of 28 different interior configurations to suit your specific needs. Twelve-way power front seats are heated for added comfort and include four-way power lumbar adjustment as well as adjustable head restraints. The seats come with an available ventilation mode, which circulates air through perforations in the seats for increased comfort and airflow.
In addition to the ventilation mode, The Audi Q7 also has the availability of four-zone climate control. This feature allows occupants in the driver, front passenger as well as the occupants of the rear seating areas to select and control their desired level of heating or cooling via the center console with the available four-zone climate control system. A light sensor on the dashboard adjusts the system based on the sun's intensity.
The available three-panel Panorama sunroof produces a unique, light-filled driving experience. Both front and rear glass elements can be tilted, and the front panel can be opened along a length of 19". The sunroof features a front power sunshade for automatic opening as well as a rear manual sunshade. Outstanding fresh-air comfort combines with excellent aeroacoustics, including a mesh wind deflector, for an extremely low noise build up.
The Q7 can be equipped with a Bang & Olufsen® Advanced Sound System. This available 14-speaker sound system delivers more than 1,000 watts of power and combines state-of-the-art technologies that include Acoustic Lens technology, proprietary Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and ICEpower digital amplification with a detailed study of the Q7 interior. More than a sound system built into a car, the system is the ultimate driving and listening experience, a virtual concert hall on wheels.
The available MMI® Navigation plus features a 7" full-color LCD screen and MMI control logic. The Q7 comes equipped with the latest generation of MMI, powered by a 40-GB hard drive and an NVIDIA® processor to enhance graphics. This generation MMI offers HD Radio™ Technology and a color driver information system, and 3D topography graphics that include the buildings in many cities and the crystal clear digital AM and FM sound of HD Radio Technology with over 1,000 new stations. Also included is voice control for navigation and telephone functions.
This connective technology offers intelligent integration with the iPod® and iPhone®. Any iPod Generation 4 and higher may be connected through the glove box, providing full iPod controls on the MMI® screen. This feature allows connection of a USB flash drive or a conventional auxiliary audio input as well.

Seeing ahead is crucial when driving through the twists and turns at night. The Q7 features available Audi adaptive headlights, which utilize input from the steering wheel and speed of the vehicle to pivot up to 15 degrees to allow you to see ahead in the dark by lighting up corners more effectively. This feature is extremely useful combined with the available Audi Xenon plus Headlights. The available signature LED daytime running lights and available high-intensity Audi xenon plus headlights not only add a distinct look to the vehicle, they also improve visibility while using half of the energy of conventional bulbs. The same LED technology is integrated into the turn signals, creating an exclusive look.
LED lights are superior to conventional bulbs, thanks to faster activation speeds and bright light emissions. In addition, they can last an entire vehicle lifetime and consume up to 50 percent less energy while adding a signature look to your Audi. This is why the Q7 is equipped with LED taillights. While in the back one can open and close the power tailgate with the touch of a finger for maximum convenience. Additionally, you can program the opening height to best suit your needs.
Performance
The all-aluminum Audi 3.0 liter TFSI® V6 engine benefits from the combination of FSI direct injection and supercharging to create 272hp. The impressive 295 lb-ft. torque is generated over a wide range, from 2250 to 4750 RPM, making full power usable at any speed. The four-vane, Roots-style supercharger makes the 3.0 liter V6 exceptional. The Q7 also comes with the option of the 3.0 liter TFSI S line® engine, which delivers 333hp and an impressive 325 lb-ft of torque.
This power is delivered through an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission. Not only does the transmission add to the sporty experience with purposeful, smooth shifts, but it also improves fuel economy, responsiveness and overall driving comfort. This combination delivers practicality through the towing package. The Q7 towing package offers an outstanding 6,600 lbs. towing capacity as well as increased cooling capacity, and trailer hitch.
The Audi Q7 also comes equipped with the legendary quattro® All-wheel Drive. With over 30 years of experience we can assure you that permanent all-wheel drive systems are not created equal and they certainly don’t perform that way either. quattro® is essentially a mechanical system devised around a torque-sensing, self-locking center differential that shifts torque instantaneously to where it’s needed. This means quattro® is adjusting power between front and rear axles more than a hundred times a second, ensuring torque is delivered to the wheels where traction exists.
In normal driving situations, quattro® distributes the power between each axle by sending 40 percent to the front wheels and 60 percent to the rear wheels, enhancing the driving dynamics while maintaining optimum control. Constantly assessing grip, quattro® helps ensure the best possible combination of traction and handling regardless of the road conditions.
The Optional Audi adaptive air suspension is an electronically controlled air suspension system with a continuously adaptive damping system. The system offers a choice of six different settings: Lift, Off-road, Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and Cargo – which lowers the rear of the vehicle for easier access. The system varies the air-spring damping characteristics and rebound response according to the mode selected and vehicle speed. Vehicle ride-height is also adjusted according the mode selected. In Comfort mode a higher ride-height results in greater ground clearance and a more pliant ride, while a lower ride-height in Dynamic mode creates a lower center of gravity and additional directional stability.
Stability is also increased through the Servotronic® power steering system. Servotronic® is speed-dependent power steering in which the amount of power assist provided is dictated by road speed, providing even more comfort and convenience for the driver. The amount of power assist is greatest at low speeds, making it easier to maneuver the car. At higher speeds, an electronic sensing system gradually reduces the level of power assist, creating a tighter, more dynamic steering feel.
To further enhance handling and ride comfort, significant attention to detail has been paid to suppressing vibrations at the attachment points along the steering column. The result is a nearly 100 percent reduction in steering wheel vibration, offering the driver smoothness at virtually any speed.
Efficiency
For more than 20 years, TDI® has been the leader in diesel technology. It’s powerful and efficient, and is extremely quiet. In fact, as a testament to its benefits, vehicles powered by diesel account for 50 percent of all vehicle sales in Western Europe. Its efficiency was proven in 2008 during the Audi Mileage Marathon. The Audi Q7 TDI averaged an extraordinary 28 MPG on a cross-country trip from New York to Los Angeles. By using the most advanced technology of Turbo Diesel Injection, or TDI, diesel is quickly gaining popularity in North America for several good reasons.
With the potent combination of direct injection and turbo charging, the 3.0 liter TDI® clean diesel engine delivers an impressive 406 lb-ft. of torque and produces 225hp. That is the power of a comparable V8 gasoline engine. Additionally, the TDI® provides a range of more than 600 miles from a full tank that holds 26.4 gallons of fuel. TDI clean diesel gains its incredible power from a number of innovative technologies. The turbo itself offers Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG), which allows more of the power generated by the turbo to be used at lower engine speeds. That means quicker acceleration off-the-line.
Long gone are the days of dirty, smoking diesel engines. Audi TDI clean diesel is responsible for the cleanest diesel engines in the world, with 20 percent fewer CO2 emissions than comparable gasoline engines, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to gasoline power. One reason TDI clean diesel is so clean is because of the AdBlue technology found in the TDI clean diesel exhaust system. AdBlue uses a urea-based solution that scrubs the exhaust gases and removes 90 percent of the nitrogen oxides and 20 percent of carbon emissions, making it compliant with ULEV II BIN 5. The result is a significant reduction in emissions that contribute to global warming.
Safety
Audi has always held firm the belief that prevention is the best safety feature of all. And the Audi Q7 offers an abundance of features designed to help keep you out of harm’s way. For instance, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) helps keep the vehicle traveling in its intended direction by utilizing ABS, the traction control of ASR and the electronic brake force distribution of EBD. ESC senses when the roof rail crossbars are in use and instantly alerts ESC to compensate for the vehicle’s higher center of gravity. The ESC has a special off-road mode that can be switched on and off by pressing the “ESC off” switch. This adapts the ESC, ASR and ABS to off-road driving conditions such as mud, gravel, deep snow and more.
Audi has implemented a number of ingenious features to help maximize braking effectiveness. In wet conditions, the brake disc wiping system gently pulses the brakes to help dissipate water buildup. Keeping the discs as dry as possible helps promote the most effective braking. Additionally, the brake assist system is able to detect an attempt at full braking and apply full stopping power when required. The advantage is that braking distance is significantly reduced.
However, if a collision becomes inevitable, the Q7 has proven itself with a Five-star Crash Test Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration [NHTSA]. Crumple zones, at the front and rear of the vehicle, are designed to help dissipate the energy and force of a collision by deforming upon impact. The high-strength steel used in and around the occupant cell is designed to protect the integrity of the passenger compartment and those within it.
The six standard, second-generation airbags provide an additional measure of safety. They include front-impact airbags for the driver and passenger and are designed to help protect the head. Seat-mounted, side-impact airbags for the front seat occupants are designed to help protect the thorax in a collision. And the side-curtain airbags offer front and rear occupants head protection in the event of a side collision or rollover. Reacting to rear collision forces, the head restraints help cradle the occupant’s head in an effort to reduce the likelihood of a whiplash injury.
The Q7 offers the advanced technology of the optional Audi parking system. The system uses front and rear ultrasonic parking sensors to measure the distance to the nearest object, while intermittent audible tones indicate the distance to the driver. There is also the option of Audi Side Assist. Active at speeds over 19 MPH, the available Audi Side Assist monitors blind spots and fast-approaching vehicles at a range of 150 ft. When a vehicle is present within the monitored area, the system warns you via LED lights in the exterior mirrors.
